Vehicle GPS Tracking and Monitoring for GCXONE

The Teltonika-GPS device type brings automobile and vehicle tracking to GCXONE. Built around the Teltonika FMC003, a compact GPS tracking terminal installed via a vehicle’s OBD-II port, it gives operators real-time visibility into vehicle location, movement, and operating condition, with alarm rules that turn incoming telemetry into actionable events without manual JSON editing.

Speed Limit

  • Alerts when vehicle speed exceeds a configured maximum
  • The speed threshold is fully configurable per vehicle or deployment

  • Alerts when battery voltage, battery current, or external voltage falls outside a configured range
  • Minimum and maximum thresholds are configurable per deployment

  • Alerts when signal strength drops below a configured minimum

Getting started

Configured directly as a device type in GCXONE — no separate app subscription required.

  1. 01Install the trackerMount the Teltonika FMC003 via the vehicle’s OBD-II port
  2. 02Add the deviceIn GCXONE, add a Teltonika-GPS device using its IMEI Number and API Key
  3. 03Configure alarm rulesOpen the Rules tab and enable the rules relevant to the deployment
  4. 04Verify communicationConfirm the tracker is reporting data and rule evaluation is active

System Architecture

Field Layer
The Teltonika FMC003 tracker, installed in the vehicle, collects GPS and supported vehicle telemetry.
Communication Layer
The tracker transmits data using the configured SIM card and mobile network.
Network Layer
Data is routed over the internet to the configured GCXONE server address and TCP port.
Application Layer
GCXONE receives the data, identifies the device, processes telemetry, stores it for monitoring, and evaluates it against the enabled alarm rules.
Presentation Layer
Operators view vehicle location, tracker status, telemetry, and communication status in GCXONE, with generated events available for response.
