Introduction
GCXONE supports AJAX integration for centralized alarm reception. AJAX hubs containing NVRs, intrusion panels, and other alarm-triggering objects can be integrated with GCXONE for centralized alarm management.
Supported Device Types:
- AJAX Hub
- AJAX NVR
- AJAX IP Camera
- AJAX PIRCAM
Supported Functionality:
- Discovery
- Alarm reception for all device types
- Live video streaming for AJAX IP Camera and AJAX NVR only — AJAX Hub and AJAX PIRCAM do not support live streaming, playback, or PTZ. See Limitations at the end of this article for the full breakdown by device type.
The alarm transmission protocol used is SIA (Security Industry Association Protocol).
AJAX Hub / AJAX NVR:
The AJAX Hub acts as a container for multiple alarm objects such as intrusion panels, NVRs, and other sensors.
In GCXONE, you can add either:
- AJAX Hub: For AJAX manufactured cameras
- AJAX NVR: For third-party cameras
All alarms from Hub or NVR objects are received collectively under this device in GCXONE.
Step 1: Invite NXGEN Technologies to Your Hub
Before adding your AJAX device in GCXONE, you must invite NXGEN Technologies to your AJAX Hub. This allows GCXONE to verify and connect to your Hub or NVR.
- Open AJAX PRO Desktop.
- Navigate to: Space Settings → Security Companies → Invite via Email
- Enter the invitation email:
Ajax@nxgen.io - Send the invitation and confirm it is accepted by NXGEN Technologies before proceeding to the next step.

Step 2: Add Your AJAX Device in GCXONE
1. Obtain Hub ID or Device ID
- Hub ID is required for adding an AJAX Hub
- Device ID is required for adding an AJAX NVR
Both must be collected from the AJAX client application specific to the customer's Hub
Important: When entering the Hub ID or Device ID, GCXONE performs an existence check using the NXGEN API key.
2. Add AJAX Device in GCXONE
- Navigate to the Devices tab

- Click the Add button

- The Add Device dialog will appear

- Select the Device Type (AJAX Hub or AJAX NVR) and enter the Hub ID or Device ID

- Fill in the remaining required fields: Name and Timezone

- Click Discover

- The platform will connect to and verify the Hub or NVR.
- On success:
- For Hub: All devices associated with the Hub will be automatically fetched and displayed
- For NVR: All cameras associated with the NVR will be automatically fetched and displayed

- Review the discovered devices or cameras and confirm the details.
- Once the device is discovered, click Save

Before clicking Save, the dialog also displays optional Advanced Settings and Location fields:
Advanced Settings
- Site Pulse: enable/disable Site Pulse and set the Site Pulse Time (default 30 minutes)
- Event Polling: enable/disable event polling and set the Polling Interval (default 10 seconds)
- Configure Heatmap Mask
- Periodic Health Check
- Event Retention Time (default 30 days)
Location
- Latitude
- Longitude
- Plus Code
- What 3 Words
These fields are optional and do not block saving the device.
After saving, you can reopen the device at any time to review or edit it. The Connected Cameras panel shows each discovered camera with its current status, and each camera can be individually enabled or disabled (for example, 4/6 enabled).

3. Configure SIA Alarm Receiver (AJAX Client)
After adding the device:
- Locate your newly registered AJAX device in the device list
- Click the View button beside the device
- On the device overview page, the required SIA configuration information will be displayed.

4. Configure the Receiver in AJAX PRO Desktop
- Receiver IP/PORT: Configure at Company Level in the AJAX client
- Encryption Key: Configure at Company Level in the AJAX client
- Account Number: Configure at Object Level in the AJAX client for the Hub or relevant alarm object
- Open AJAX PRO Desktop.
- Navigate to: Company → CMS connection → Add Receiver
- Note the name shown for this receiver in the CMS connection list — you will need it in Step 3 when mapping account numbers.
- Enter the receiver details obtained from GCXONE: IP/hostname, port, and encryption key. Set Protocol to
SIA DC-09(pre-selected by default). - If using encrypted communication, enable encryption and enter the exact encryption key from GCXONE.
- Enable Transfer device or group name to CMS events.

- Click Save.

Step 3: Enable the Receiver & Map Account Numbers
Once the receiver is added in AJAX PRO Desktop, enable it and map the account number for each device you want to monitor.
- Go to the Objects section in AJAX PRO Desktop.
- Click the Object from which you want to monitor events.
- Open the Maintenance tab.
- Find the Monitoring via {receiverName} option, replacing {receiverName} with the name you set in the previous step.
- On the right panel, a list of all Hub and NVR devices associated with this object will appear.
- Select the device you want to monitor and enter the Account Number as shown in the GCXONE device overview page.

- Ensure that Format is set to
ADM-CID.

Step 4: Configure Streaming Permissions in Ajax
To allow GCXONE to access live video and camera archive, configure permissions in the Ajax Security System or Ajax Desktop application:
- Select a space and navigate to Control → Settings → Privacy.
- Go to Companies and select the required company (e.g., your NXGEN monitoring company).
- Open Native Cameras & NVR Channels.
- Select the required camera.
- Configure the necessary access rights:
- Watch camera livestream
- View camera archive
- Download video from archive
- Watch with sound
- Use pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) feature
- If Watch camera livestream is enabled, specify when the user is allowed to access the selected camera features (e.g., Always).
- Click Back to apply the settings.
If required, repeat these steps for other cameras.
Note: Only users with Admin or Privacy Management rights can modify privacy settings. PRO users or monitoring companies cannot change these permissions on behalf of the customer.
Check that streaming is working: After configuring permissions, confirm the camera stream loads correctly in the platform's live view.

Verification
- Verify that the receiver status in AJAX PRO Desktop is active.
- Trigger a test event on your AJAX device.
- Confirm that the alert appears in GCXONE. Once verified, your AJAX device is fully integrated and live alarm events will be received in GCXONE.

Ajax Hub Siren Support
GCXONE now supports triggering the Ajax HomeSiren Jeweller through the AJAX Hub integration, enabling operators to activate the siren directly from the platform.
Key Features
- Ajax HomeSiren Jeweller devices are discovered and exposed as I/O devices within GCXONE.

- HomeSiren Jeweller can be triggered directly from the Map interface.

- HomeSiren Jeweller can be activated through the Video Viewer.

- Siren activation can be incorporated into automated workflows and response procedures.
- Supports centralized control of Ajax HomeSiren Jeweller devices alongside other integrated security devices.
- Enables faster incident response and enhanced alarm management.
Supported Device
- Ajax HomeSiren Jeweller

Required Ajax Hub Configuration
To allow siren activation, verify that the following setting is enabled on the Ajax Hub:
- Open the Devices menu.
- Select the Ajax Hub and open Settings.
- Navigate to Service.
- Open Sounds and Alerts.
- Enable Alert with a siren if in-app panic button is pressed.
This setting must be enabled to ensure the HomeSiren Jeweller responds correctly to siren activation commands.
Limitations
AJAX devices connect to GCXONE through a secure cloud-to-cloud integration. When an event or alarm occurs, the AJAX Cloud sends alerts directly to GCXONE. Along with these alerts, AJAX NVR systems provide a URL hosted within GCXONE, enabling users to view the associated alarm clip and access the live video stream. Due to current AJAX API limitations, only up to three images can be retrieved from AJAX PIRCAM and AJAX IP cameras for each event.

AJAX Hub
- Alarm Reception: supported — primary gateway for alarms from all Hub-connected devices, including PIRCAM and other sensors
- 3 Images: supported — for Hub-connected AJAX PIRCAM devices
- Video Streaming: N/A
- GCXONE display: Quad view showing 3 images relayed from the connected PIRCAM
AJAX PIRCAM
- Alarm Reception: supported — AJAX Hub is the primary gateway to communicate all alarms of PIRCam and other Hub-connected AJAX devices
- 3 Images: supported
- Video Streaming: N/A
