Introduction

This guide describes the required Eagle Eye Cloud account details and GCXONE-side onboarding steps to integrate Eagle Eye Cloud with the GCXONE platform.

Prerequisites

The following must be validated before integration:

  • A valid Eagle Eye Cloud user account with administrative privileges at the reseller level or customer level.
  • Permission to:
  1. View device and camera details.
  2. Manage devices and camera assignments.

The permissions dialog below shows View and Download Videos expanded, including Live Video, Recorded Video, and Preview permissions:

The Cameras tab of the same dialog controls which individual cameras this user account can access:

The Access tab controls the account's access period and lets you disable or delete the user:

Step 6b: Once signed in, GCXONE displays "Token available. You can discover this device." next to the Authenticate button.

Step 7: The dialog also has a Name field and a Select Entity Group dropdown above the connection fields. Below them are an Enable Audio checkbox, a required Timezone, a Device Configuration section (Site Pulse Configuration), an Advanced Settings section (Event Polling, Configure Heatmap Mask, Periodic Health Check, Event Retention Time — 30 days by default), and an optional Location section (Latitude, Longitude, Plus Code, What3Words).

Step 8: Click Discover to initiate device validation and cloud handshake with Eagle Eye. Discover is only enabled once a token has been obtained.

Step 9: Once the device is successfully discovered, click Save.

Post-Integration Validation

After successful onboarding, verify the following in GCXONE:

  • Device status shows Online
  • Cameras are visible and correctly mapped
  • Live stream is accessible
  • Alarms are received properly (if the device is armed)

Discovery may fail if:

  • Authentication was not completed, or the token is missing or has expired
  • The Serial Number, user name, or password is incorrect
  • A firewall is blocking outbound connectivity

Additional Notes:

  • Ensure your browser allows pop-ups for GCXONE; otherwise the Eagle Eye authorization window will be blocked.
  • Keeping camera names consistent between Eagle Eye and GCXONE is recommended for operational clarity.

Device Overview

After successful onboarding, key Eagle Eye device information is available from the device's Overview tab, including:

  • Active Sensors count
  • Unique Reference Number
  • Serial Number
  • Manufacturer
  • Firmware Version
  • Time Difference
  • Timezone
  • IP Address
  • SIA Details (Account Number, Encryption Key, Receiver IP)

This provides centralized visibility into the connected Eagle Eye device and its associated sensors, as shown below:

Eagle Eye Cloud Authentication

  • Supports authentication using an existing Eagle Eye Cloud account.
  • Users can authenticate their Eagle Eye account directly from the device configuration in GCXONE.
  • Authentication generates the required token for device discovery.
  • GCXONE displays the authentication status to confirm when the device is ready for discovery.
  • Supports Eagle Eye authorization when additional authentication is required.

Device Discovery and Management

  • Supports discovering Eagle Eye devices using the device serial number and Eagle Eye Cloud credentials.
  • Device discovery is enabled only after successful authentication.
  • Discovered Eagle Eye cameras are automatically onboarded as sensors under the corresponding device.
  • Users can review discovered cameras before completing the device configuration.
  • Supports viewing and managing onboarded Eagle Eye devices within GCXONE.
  • Saved device information is used to validate the Eagle Eye authentication status.
  • Supports re-authentication when the authentication token is unavailable or expired.

Video Monitoring

  • Supports live video streaming from discovered Eagle Eye cameras.

  • Supports recorded video playback within GCXONE.
Eagle Eye recorded video playback with timeline
  • Provides access to Eagle Eye camera video through the existing GCXONE video monitoring workflows.

VAS Event Monitoring

  • Eagle Eye device events are integrated with the existing VAS workflow.
  • Users can monitor Eagle Eye events alongside events from other supported device integrations.
  • Provides a consistent event monitoring experience across supported devices within GCXONE.

Key Benefits

  • Centralized Device Management — manage Eagle Eye Cloud devices directly within GCXONE alongside other supported integrations.
  • Simplified Onboarding — streamlined authentication, discovery, camera review, and device configuration.
  • Secure Authentication — token-based authentication enables authorized device discovery and access.
  • Centralized Device Information — view sensor count, manufacturer, unique reference, and firmware version from one place.
  • Unified Video Monitoring — access live and recorded Eagle Eye camera video through GCXONE.
  • Integrated Event Monitoring — monitor Eagle Eye events through the existing VAS workflow.
  • Improved Operational Efficiency — reduces the need to switch between GCXONE and the separate Eagle Eye console for routine device monitoring and management.
  • Consistent User Experience — provides a familiar GCXONE workflow for managing Eagle Eye devices, cameras, video, and events.

Troubleshooting

If discovery or onboarding fails, work through the following steps:

  1. Re-authenticate with EagleEye to confirm the token is valid and has not expired.
  2. Verify the Serial Number, user name and password entered match an active Eagle Eye Cloud account.
  3. Confirm pop-ups are allowed for GCXONE so the authorization window can open.
  4. Verify GCXONE user permissions to ensure the account has the necessary access to manage devices.
  5. Contact platform support if the issue persists — provide the site details and Eagle Eye account information to expedite resolution.

Summary

The Eagle Eye Cloud integration extends GCXONE with support for device onboarding, authentication, discovery, device management, video monitoring, and VAS event monitoring — giving users a centralized, consistent platform for managing Eagle Eye devices without relying on separate tools for day-to-day operations.
