What Indoor Floor Plan Does
The Indoor Floor Plan feature lets you attach architectural floor plans to buildings on the site map and place cameras and IO devices directly on those plans. Operators can then monitor and control indoor assets from a visual layout instead of relying only on the outdoor site map.
Why It Matters
An outdoor site map shows where a building is, but not what is inside it. A building can hold an unlimited number of floors, each with its own plan and its own independently placed cameras and IO devices, so operators can navigate between floors, view live video, and trigger IO from a single indoor layout.
How It Works
Step 1 — Create a Building
- Open the Map module.
- Navigate to the required Site.
- Enable Edit Mode.
- Click Add Building.
- Select Create new building from the Building dropdown.
- Enter the Building Name.
- Click Upload Floor Plan (PDF, JPEG, PNG) and select the floor plan file.
- Enter the Floor Name.
- Place the building marker at the correct location.
- Click Save.
The building is now available on the site map.

Step 2 — Add a Floor and Upload a Floor Plan
- Click the building marker.
- The Properties panel opens from the right side of the screen and shows the Building name, the building's Geolocation (Latitude and Longitude), the Floor dropdown, a preview of the selected Floor Plan, and the Open On Map button.
- Use Add Floor and Delete Floor to manage the floors of the building. Click Add Floor.
- In the dialog:
- Enter the floor name (for example, Ground Floor, First Floor, or Basement).
- Click Browse Documents.
- Select a PDF, JPEG, or PNG file.
- Click Save Floor.
The uploaded floor plan appears in the preview section.

Step 3 — Open the Floor Plan
- Click the building marker to open the Building Properties.
- Select the desired floor.
- Verify the floor plan preview.
- Click Open On Map.
The floor plan opens as a full-screen overlay.
The floor plan opens in whichever mode the site map is currently in. Enable Edit Mode on the map before opening the plan to work in Edit Mode; with Edit Mode off, clicking the building opens the plan directly in View Mode for monitoring only.

View Mode
Use View Mode to:
- View camera locations
- Open live video
- Trigger IO devices

Edit Mode
Use Edit Mode to:
- Add cameras
- Add IO devices
- Move devices
- Delete devices
- Modify camera angles
- Save floor changes
The bottom toolbar in Edit Mode contains Add Building, Add IO, Add Camera, Add Tower, Add Text, and Save.

Step 4 — Place Cameras and IO Devices
Add a Camera
- Click Add Camera.
- Select the required Device.
- Select the desired Sensor.
- Click anywhere on the floor plan to place the camera.
- Click Save to save the changes.
The camera is placed with a Field of View (FOV) indicator showing its viewing direction.
Add an IO Device
- Click Add IO.
- Select the required Device.
- Select the IO.
- Click the desired location on the floor plan.
IO devices display their current status:
- Green — Active/Open
- Red — Inactive/Closed
Move a Device
- Click and drag the device marker to a new position.

Delete a Device
- Click the device.
- The selected device is highlighted in red.
- Click the Delete (Trash) icon.
- Click Save to save the changes.

Edit Camera Properties
Select a camera to open the Camera Properties panel. From here you can:
- Change the Device
- Change the Sensor
- Adjust the camera's viewing direction — drag the Degree slider (0°–360°) to rotate the camera's Field of View (FOV) on the plan
- View the camera's Live stream
- Delete the camera

Step 5 — Navigate Between Floors
When multiple floors are available, use the Previous (<) and Next (>) arrows in the header.
Navigation works in both:
- View Mode
- Edit Mode
The header displays Building Name — Floor Name (1/3).

Recommended Workflow
- Open the building in Edit Mode.
- Configure the first floor.
- Navigate to the next floor.
- Configure additional floors.
- Save once after completing all floors.
Step 6 — Save Changes
Click Save from the bottom toolbar. Saving performs the following:
- Saves every floor containing a floor plan
- Stores camera positions
- Stores IO positions
- Saves camera viewing angles
A success message, Floor plan saved successfully, confirms completion.
Important: Closing the floor plan before saving will permanently discard all unsaved changes.

Step 7 — Operate Using the Floor Plan
View Camera Live Video
- Open the floor plan in View Mode.
- Click any camera marker.
The live video opens in a window titled with the sensor name, while keeping the floor plan visible. The window shows the camera's Status, can be expanded to full screen, and closes with ESC.

Trigger an IO Device
- Click an IO marker.
- Confirm the trigger action.
During execution the IO displays:
- Status color changes
- Countdown timer
- Loading indicator
Download the Floor Plan
With the building's floor plan open in Edit Mode, click Download Plan, in the bottom toolbar next to Save. The exported image includes:
- Floor plan
- Camera markers
- IO markers

Managing Floors and Buildings
Delete a Floor
- Open Building Properties.
- Select the floor.
- Click Delete Floor.
- Confirm the action.
Deleting a floor removes:
- The uploaded plan
- All camera placements
- All IO placements
Delete a Building
- Open Building Properties.
- Click the Delete icon.
- Confirm the deletion.

Summary
The Indoor Floor Plan feature bridges outdoor site mapping with indoor operations by allowing buildings to contain multiple floor plans, each with independently placed cameras and IO devices. Operators can navigate between floors, monitor live video, trigger IO devices, and manage indoor assets from a single interface.
